The breath of color

Born in January 1972, ARemy is a painter whose paintings are defined by color, movement, light, but above all the poetry that emanates from them. She grew up between Europe, France, Africa, South America, and then the United States, travels and landscapes that permeate her painting.

Initially a lawyer, she turned to painting in 2001, a revelation. The intense sensation felt when applying paint with a knife and the desire to create abstract landscapes encouraged her to devote herself to her passion.

Self-taught, she follows her instincts and paints freely, without worrying about academic rules. For her, a canvas is a receptacle of emotions, inspired by nature, the play of light, shapes, and colors that surround her. She seeks to transcribe fleeting emotions that give depth and strength to her works.

When she begins a painting, she doesn’t know what it will look like in the end. On large formats, she layers colors and textures with a palette knife, seeking to create contrasts and shapes until harmony and balance emerge.

“Each painting starts from a desire for color linked to time, a mood, an encounter… I seek spaces of emotion, lightness and light.”
